Horticulture crops cultivation is picking up in the district as it is having a favourable agro-climatic condition.
Farmers have raised horticulture crops on over 68,423 hectares, including fruits on over 8,555 hectares, vegetables on over 328 hectares, root and tuber crops on over 7,868 hectares, tapioca flowers on over 165 hectares, spices and condiments on over 2,183 hectares, coconut on over 24,866 hectares, plantation crops on over 24,358 hectares and medicinal and aromatic plants on over 100 hectares.
