In this latest report the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has accused the state revenue department for acquiring land for six companies including Posco India & Vedanta Aluminium Ltd (VAL)by invoking emergency provisions without fulfilling the conditions prescribed under Land Acquisition Act-1894.

Urban water and sanitation service delivery in Orissa could significantly improve by achieving these key objectives.

This draft report on city sanitation plan provides an insight on the present sanitation practices/situation in the city, sanitation deficiencies and further provides a detailed planning for city wide sanitation for attaining the goal of open defecation free city. A structured sample survey was conducted throughout the city on various attributes that concern the sanitation facilities in its vicinity and analysis of the same is carried out to assess its present sanitation situation.

A bill to regulate the development and management of ground water and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. This Act may be called the Orissa Ground Water (Regulation, Development and Management) Act, 2011.

Government of Odisha intends to launch a new scheme for exploitation of ground water resources through construction of deep bore wells in hard rock areas of the State with a view to augment irrigation potential mostly in blocks which have less than 35% irrigation, it is proposed to install around 4,000 nos. of bore well projects each with in ayacut of approximately 2 ha.

These rules may be called the Orissa Irrigation (Amendment) Rules, 2010. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Orissa Gazette.
