JHANSI: Unhappy over poor implementation of the Centre's Bundelkhand package, Planning Commission's deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia said here on Sunday that he would write to the chief ministers of UP and MP about the state of affairs. "Out of three years of time limit given to implement the package, 18 months have already passed in which only 23% of work has been completed in UP and 34% in MP, which is quite a slow pace," Ahluwalia said just before leaving for Delhi on Sunday. He was here on a two-day tour to monitor the implementation of the package.

The present paper deals with the characterization of solid waste. During the study period Chitrakoot Nagar Panchayat, the MSW composition was found as polythene (10.12%), plastic (4.78%), rubber (3.70%), metals (2.84%), glass (4.08%), wood (5.55%), cotton and cloths (4.29%), paper and cardboards (7.77%), vegetable wastes (11.66%), soil and constructional wastes (29.87%), garden waste (9.73%), rags (2.29%) and ash (3.32%).

LUCKNOW: Five days after Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi accused Mayawati government in UP of mega-scale corruption in the centrally sponsored schemes, union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh has shot off a letter to UP chief minister Mayawati citing a huge scam in the MNREGA scheme in the state. According to sources, Jairam has specifically mentioned seven districts Balrampur, Gonda, Mahoba, Sonbhadra, Sant Kabir Nagar and Mirzapur where central funds have been allegedly misused by the state.
