Jamshedpur, Jan. 6: Patna Meteorological Office today said cold wave conditions in Jharkhand would prevail for another 48 hours, even as it sounded a severe cold wave alert for a few isolated places in the state.

This is the first time in 15 years that a cold wave has lasted this long in Jharkhand. The current spell set in on January 2.

Dhanbad, July 18: After presenting an action plan for pollution control in Dhanbad last week, members of the expert panel are now working overnight to prepare a revised blueprint.

The revised plan is being prepared according to the suggestions of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). It will be submitted by the end of this month.

If things work according to plan, villages in Jharkhand will soon generate electricity for their own consumption. Dhanbad-based Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research has shown them the way.
