PANJIM: Henceforth, stocking and sale of firecrackers will be disallowed in the State, if they do not conform with standards prescribed by Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, as amended. Also, import of such firecrackers has been banned.
The government has directed collectors and district magistrates of both districts to disallow stocking, storage, display, sale and usage of fireworks that do not conform with stipulated noise levels.
