At a meeting held under Engineering and Auto Expo-2012 at the State capital, a meeting of foreign companies’ representatives and the State Government was also held during which they were given invitation for investment by the Government. For this purpose, they were once again apprised of intensification of industrialisation in Madhya Pradesh during recent years, its objectives and hosting arrangements made by the State Government.

The Centre has approved six national highway projects measuring about 500 km for Madhya Pradesh after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s letter to Union Road Transport and Highways (RTH) Minister CP Joshi and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee last year. The total project cost of these projects, to be awarded under public-private partnership (PPP) mode, is over Rs 2,917 crore. Two projects have been approved by the Finance Minister while the other four by the RTH Minister. Besides these, the Centre has also cleared four projects for Rajasthan, the home State of the RTH Minister.

Bhopal : Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Ajay Vishnoi has said that now the farmers will not have to wait for days at Mandi or society for selling wheat on support price. Every farmer will be called to the procurement venue on fixed date, wheat will be procured from him and amount of payment deposited directly in his bank account the same day. Shri Vishnoi was performing bhumi poojan of development works in villages Madhai, Chhapra and Pahrua near Sihora in Jabalpur district recently.

Bhopal : Thirty-two schemes of 34 districts of Madhya Pradesh worth Rs. 1752 crore have been sanctioned under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification scheme. Under the scheme, 395 non-electrified villages have been electrified. Besides, intense electrification has been undertaken in 13 thousand 389 villages where free connections have been given to 4 lakh 83 thousand below poverty line beneficiaries so far. Moreover, schemes of 16 districts of the state have been forwarded for approval to Rural Electrification Corporation.

Putting the BJP government in the dock for illegal mining in MP, Janata Dal ( United) president and NDA convener Sharad Yadav said illegal mining in Jabalpur district is not less than that of Bellary in Karnataka. Talking to media persons on Sunday, Yadav said, those who operated the illegal mining in Jabalpur are not less than those of Reddy brothers who were caught and put in jail.

Bhopal : Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur inaugurated 43rd annual conference of All-India Mayors’ Council at Indore today. Gaur said that planned work has to be undertaken to provide all the facilities to people coming to cities from villages. He said that with this in view, work is going on for chalking out city development plans. So far, development plans of 110 cities have been chalked out while work is progressing on development plans of rest of 258 cities.

Bhopal : A three-day regional technical workshop on making Green India Mission more effective was held at Jabalpur recently. The workshop was informed by Director General Forests and Special Secretary Forests and Environment, Government of India P.J. Dilip Kumar that better work has been done by Joint Forest Committees in Madhya Pradesh. Benefit of these works and experiences should be introduced to other states also. The workshop was participated by Madhya Pradesh’s Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Ramesh M. Dave and senior officers from Bihar, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
