Standing Committee on Rural Development (2011-12) present this Thirty First Report (15th Lok Sabha) on "the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2011‘ relating to the Ministry of Rural Development (Department of Land Resources). The Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Bill, 2011 as introduced in Lok Sabha on 7th September, 2011 was referred by the Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha under Rule 331 (E) (i) (b) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha on 13th September, 2011 to the Standing Committee for examination and report.

Haryana tops the list of 16 States where environment and forest clearance norms are being violated, fully or partially, by projects.

In the 2011-12, a total of 86 projects in Haryana reported partial- or non-compliance with stipulated environmental norms, Ms Jayanthi Natarajan, Minister of State (Independent) for Environment and Forests, told the Rajya Sabha recently.

A total of 42 projects in Punjab, 38 in Himachal Pradesh, 37 in Goa and 29 in Tamil Nadu were also reported as not complying or partially complying with green norms, she added.

Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is gearing up for the land acquisition process for launching housing schemes in the city. The authority is also trying to give a push to the biggest housing scheme in the city at Nider which was facing problem on land acquisition since long.
