Following Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s directive to speed up the process of tranquilising the tiger roaming in Rehmankheda forest of Lucknow for the past three months, the forest department has now roped in the Assistant Director of Nandankanan Zoological Park in Orissa, Kamal Lochan Purohit, for the operation.

Before Purohit, the department called Nawab Shafath Ali Khan of Hyderabad, a hunter who killed the 2009 maneater tigress of Faizabad, for tranquilising the animal, but failed.
