The Agriculture Ministry has drawn up a plan to develop 13 sectors of the agricultural field under Api Wawamu Rata Nagamu Under this project the Ministry had allocated around Rs 440 million to develop the agriculture sector for the year 2012, Agriculture Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana said.

According to the national agricultural policy the government has drawn up a plan to cultivate every inch of the country's land to make this project a success, the government has launched some strategies utilizing short-term and medium term plans, he said.

Bhopal : Agriculture and Food Processing Production and Export Development Authority (APEDA) has given accreditation to Madhya Pradesh State Organic Certification Agency. The agency has been recognised as certified agency under National Organic Production Programme.
This recognition was accorded at the meeting of National Accreditation Body for Organic Products on the basis of the report of assessment committee. The recognition will remain valid for three years with effect from October 2011.

Greenpeace activists, with assistance from chefs of Le Meridien and students of the International Institute of Hotel Management, today prepared 342.5 kg of organic baingan bharta (eggplant dish), the largest amount of the dish ever cooked in the world.

Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Harjiram Burdak flagged off the first-ever consignment of certified organic food to be exported from Rajasthan to the United States here on Thursday. The organic food comprises mainly conventional pulses for which there is a heavy demand in the U.S. They were produced from the processing unit of the Morarka Organic Foods in Sitapura Industrial Area near here.
