DARJEELING, 26 SEPT: A major landslide in Lebong Cart Road, Darjeeling near Sharma Garage that took place last night has snapped road connectivity in the interiors of Darjeeling. Traffic in the road that links Singamari, Lebong, and other parts in the region has come to a grinding halt following the landslide. The administration said that it will take at least one month for the road to be restored.

Gangtok: Battling landslides and torrential rains in quake-hit Sikkim, rescue teams got into full swing on Monday as the death toll in the 6.8 magnitude temblor mounted to 72, including 41 in the Himalayan state.

Gangtok: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved projects to the tune of Rs 78.50 crore in the spheres of education, power and water resources in Sikkim. The costs of the projects will be met from the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) fund administered by the Ministry, a DoNER press release said.

Gangtok, Sept 7: Rural Management and Development department Minister C B Karki inaugurated the first Water Testing Laboratory of Sikkim at the State Institute for Rural Development, Karfectar, Jorethang, South Sikkim.

GANGTOK, July 22: The State Government has declared the State highway from Ravangla to Namchi via Damthang and the approach road to Samdruptse in South Sikkim as an Eco-Highway.
