Itanagar, 21 AUG: With flash floods in Assam disrupting surface transport the Siang districts in landlocked Arunachal Pradesh are facing acute shortage of essential commodities and petroleum products for the seventh day today.
Official sources today said East, West and Upper Siang districts have been cut off from the rest of Arunachal Pradesh for the last one week after flash floods breached a large portion of the NH-52 at Gainadi in Dhemaji district of Assam.

Dispur has decided to create a corpus fund of Rs 100 crore in order to incorporate the suggestions made by the expert committee on mega dams on the downstream impact.

The Tagin tribe is an indigenous group of people living at upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. A study on practice of Traditional Medicine (TM) was carried out among these people. The result documented 10 medicinal plants used by the Traditional Medicinal Practitioner (TMS) of Tagin tribe for use in traditional medicine.
