The city is lending a helping hand to Hubli-Dharwad, the second-largest urban spread in Karnataka after Bangalore. The Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (Cept) University has shown the way to the aggregation, which is suffering because of overloaded public transport service, by designing a BRTS for the twin city.

A Rs 450-crore project has been proposed, including Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) between Hubli and Dharwad. Cept University has been roped in as a consultant for the project which covers a stretch of 22.2 km.

The study aims at analyzing the physico-chemical parameters of pond water (pre and post monsoon season) in Vadodara city and calculate water quality index.

AHMEDABAD: A delegation from Japan was in Vadodara on Wednesday to explore the feasibility of semi high-speed rail development in the country.

The delegation's visit to the Vadodara railway division comes on the background of the decision of Indian Railways to consider increasing the speed of trains from the existing 160 kilometres per hour (Kmph) to 200 Kmph on Delhi-Mumbai route.

Vadodara/Surat: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) stormed the annual awards for implementation of the JnNURM scheme by winning three key awards.
The city got awards for project implementation, improvement in water supply and waste water sector, and implementation of pro-poor reforms. Surat was the another city from the state to get an award for best services to the urban poor.
