National mineral policy: report of the high level committee

This report deal with the seven terms of reference of the Committee respectively. In each case, the issues are spelt out, the arguments of the concerned interest groups examined, and the recommendations are laid out. It includes important issues raised in the Committee that are not covered by the first six terms of reference are taken up. These include four important issues whose resolution would be important not only for stimulating investment flows and inducting state-of-the-art technology but also for the smooth functioning of mining operations in the country. These issues relate to fund raising by prospecting companies, captive mining in iron ore, restrictions on iron ore exports, and opening up of the beach sand mineral sector. It also lists the main conclusions and recommendations of the Committee.
