Handbook on drinking water treatment technologies

This handbook is prepared as per the requirements of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS), Government of India having following objectives: Identification of existing technologies for providing safe drinking water in the country; Data and information collection on various drinking water treatment technologies with tentative cost estimates; Suggestive O&M protocol, community mobilization and capacity building protocol and reject management protocol for every treatment technology emphasizing the reform from mere `treatment technology' to `treatment methodology and approach'; and Synthesis of technologies. This handbook is prepared as a desk study by accessing information on drinking water treatment technologies, interacting with rural water supply agencies, contacting Government Departments such as Department of Science and Technology (DST), requesting academic, research institutions and private agencies and running query on the Water Portal.
