National wetland atlas: wetlands of international importance under Ramsar convention

This atlas is part of the National Wetland Inventory and Assessment (NWIA) project towards the wetlands of International Importance under Ramsar Convention. These comprise sites constituting representative, rare or unique types and or sites of international importance for conserving biological diversity. Using the unique spectral characteristics of each site in the form of water-spread, study of aquatic vegetation and qualitative turbidity has been mapped. The seasonal variation of the above are also mapped using the post-monsoon and pre-monsoon data.
