Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Jagat Ram Chicham Vs State of M.P. Ors. dated 08/05/2014 regarding restraining the functioning of Madhya Pradesh Forest Development Corporation from cutting the trees in the forest. The Applicant alleged that indiscriminate cutting of trees in the forests at Machharaiya, Khursipar, Kutali, Badhar, Ghurwada, Semikol, Jargi and adjoining forest circle is being carried out by MPFDC. He stated that valuable trees of different varieties such as Sagoan, Saaja, Dhama, Timsa, Saal, Gunja, Kaiker and others are felled by the Respondent No. 4 causing severe damage to the forest which is getting depleted.
