Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: T. N. Godavarman Thirumulpad Vs Union of India & Others dated 29/08/2018 regarding diversion of 5042.8 sq. m. area falling under morphological ridge in southern ridge for construction of CBI Housing Complex at Maidangarhi, New Delhi.

The report of the CEC presented before the Court is to the effect that there is no objection to the request in view of the public interest involved. However, the CEC has suggested certain conditions for grant of permission. One of the condition is that the NBCC (India) Ltd. shall deposit 5% of the project cost with the Ridge Management Board Fund and which under the close supervision of the Ridge Management Board should be used by the Delhi Forest Department for conservation and protection of the Delhi Ridge. And the user agency shall create at least one percolation pond at a suitable site to be selected within 25958 sq. m. area to facilitate ground water recharges.
