Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amit @ Bhima Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi & Others dated 01/06/2020.

The application sought direction against cutting of trees outside Anand Vihar Railway station, adjacent to the public toilet near out gate of the railway station. There was also complaint for treatment and cleaning of effluents before discharge in Anand Vihar drain.

The NGT directed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Delhi to look into the matter of cutting of trees. Likewise, the grievance with regard to treatment of effluents before being discharged into Anand Vihar drain in violation of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and obligation of the Municipal Corporation under the provisions of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957 need to be considered by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC). The concerned statutory authorities have been asked to look into the grievances and take further action in accordance with law.
