WHO published in 2017 the Guidelines on integrated care for older people. Integrated care for older people (ICOPE) reflects a community-based approach that will help to reorient health and social services towards a more person-centred and coordinated model of care that supports optimizing functional ability for older people. This programme supports achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and universal health coverage, by committing to reduce the number of older people who are care dependant by 15 million by 2025.
