Country focus report 2022: supporting climate resilience and a just energy transition in Ghana

Ghana is highly vulnerable to climate change due to its location along the Atlantic Ocean in a tropical climate zone. This increasingly exposes the country to the risks of climate change including rising sea levels, drought, higher temperatures and erratic rainfall, which negatively impact the socio-economic development of the country. As a result, Ghana needs to increase its climate resilience to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change on the economy and livelihoods in the country. This note discusses recent trends on climate change and a just energy transition in Ghana.
