197 villages continue to remain marooned
Bhubaneswar: People in 197 villages of three coastal districts of Odisha continued to remain marooned even as flood water receded in most places.
The marooned population is being provided with relief materials including cooked food for the past seven days. The process will continue till water recedes, Special Relief Commissioner, PK Mohapatra told reports here on Monday.
While 108 villages in Puri districts remained marooned, 78 villages in Kendrapada district and 11 villages in Jajpur district were encircled by flood water of river Mahanadi and its tributaries, he said.
