GoM clears direct import of jet fuel
A-I to be allowed to raise Rs 7,400 cr. A Group of Ministers today recommended allowing airlines to import jet fuel directly, a move that would help them cut fuel costs by up to 20 per cent. The GoM also approved a plan to recast Air India’s debt of Rs 22,000 crore, and to allow the ailing national carrier to raise Rs 7,400 crore through government-guaranteed bonds or other means.
