Indore: Even after getting a whopping Rs 18 lakh for the medicinal plantation under the compensatory afforestation project, the proceedings for the work has been stuck due to the budget yet to be released by the state government. Compensatory afforestation, in a laymans language is a process to assuage the wear and tear caused to the forest land due to a commercial project. In 2009, a project named 220 KV Maheswar- Pithampur- Rajgarh DCDS transmission line kicked off in December 2009.

Investigations By Civic Agency, Blood Reports Reveal 17 Animals Had Been Infected
New Delhi: Pigs brought to the city from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, could be behind the spread of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in the city. This is what the latest report on the screening of blood samples collected from the swine and subsequent investigations carried out by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has revealed. According to the civic body, at least three pigs transported to the city from Indore by local traders for slaughtering have tested positive for the JE virus.

In a fresh survey, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has found three more positive samples of Japanese Encephalitis antibodies in pigs.
The Veterinary department and the Public Health department conducted a survey in three zones, collecting samples from 83 pigs.
Of these, three were found “provisionally” positive.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare detailed project reports of metro rail projects of Bhopal and Indore cities. Metro rail facility has become necessary in view of increasing population of Bhopal and Indore cities. The Union Government has underlined the need to launch metro rail service in the cities with a population of over 20 lakh.

Bhopal : Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur inaugurated 43rd annual conference of All-India Mayors’ Council at Indore today. Gaur said that planned work has to be undertaken to provide all the facilities to people coming to cities from villages. He said that with this in view, work is going on for chalking out city development plans. So far, development plans of 110 cities have been chalked out while work is progressing on development plans of rest of 258 cities.

Indore SEZ is the only Green Field Multi-product SEZ in India that has witnessed a tremendous rise in exports as compared to the last year.In the year 2010-11, the export from Indore SEZ has been recorded at Rs 1,242 crore, compared to Rs 494 crore during the previous year.
